Fireproofing (Monokote MK-6)

Proven in-place performance on interior structural steel makes Monokote MK-6 the most widely used fireproofing in the world. MK-6 is a gypsum based cementitious spray-applied fireproofing designed for application to steel and concrete substrates. Monokote cementitious fireproofing offers many significant advantages to the architect, owner, applicator and building occupant.

Thermal Barrier for Polyurethane Spray Foam Insulation (Monokote Z-3306)

A spray applied thermal barrier designed to help you meet building code and insurance requirements. Monokote Z-3306 is a cementitious fire protective coating specifically formulated for application over rigid, polyurethane and polystyrene foam plastics. Spray applied to interior foam surfaces on walls and ceilings, Z-3306 forms a hard, durable, monolithic thermal barrier against heat and fire.

As per the Ontario Building Code, all foam plastic insulation must be covered with an approved thermal barrier in order to obtain occupancy permits. An approved thermal barrier can also be achieved using gypsum board, plywood, or other options as stated in the Ontario Building Code.
